Last updated: 2026-10-31. This policy explains what Appside collects when you visit appside.build, use Appside Studio, or buy from a web store that a game publisher runs on Appside.
Who we are
Appside is a web store and checkout platform for games and apps, operated by Oded Kovach ("Appside", "we"). Contact: privacy@appside.build.
For our website and publisher accounts, Appside decides how personal data is used. For players buying from a publisher's store, Appside processes data on behalf of that publisher. The publisher's own privacy policy applies to its players, and Appside follows the publisher's instructions.
What we collect
When you visit appside.build
- Technical data: IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, the referring site and the country derived from the IP address by our network provider. We use it to deliver pages, stop abuse and rate-limit automated traffic.
- Usage analytics: page views and, if your browser runs our script and you interact or stay on a page, a visit event with the page, referring site and campaign tags. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels.
- A local setting in your browser that lets our own team exclude its visits from analytics.
When you use Appside Studio (publishers)
- Account data: email address, a hashed password, team members and their roles.
- Store data: the content you create, uploaded images, app store links you paste, product and price settings, integration settings and audit logs of changes.
- Usage events such as sign-up, sign-in, store published and builder runs, so we can operate and improve the product.
When players buy from a publisher's store
- A player identifier supplied or verified by the publisher's game backend, and attributes the publisher chooses to send (for example level, spender tier or country).
- Orders, refunds and store events (store view, pack view, checkout started), linked to a pseudonymous identifier (a one-way hash), plus the source and campaign of the visit.
- If the player chooses to give it, an email address and a marketing-consent choice for checkout reminders, which can be withdrawn at any time with the unsubscribe link.
- Payment card details are entered into our payment provider's secure checkout and are never stored by Appside.
When you list an app in the Appside catalog
The app's public details you submit, and an optional private contact email that is never shown publicly.
Cookies and local storage
We use only cookies needed for the service: a Studio sign-in cookie (8 hours), a store session cookie per store (1 hour) and a cookie that keeps test purchases separate. They are not used for advertising.
Service providers
We share data only with providers that help us run Appside, under agreements that limit their use of it:
- Hosting and storage: Render.
- Content delivery and security: Cloudflare.
- Product analytics: Mixpanel.
- Transactional email: Resend.
- AI features (store builder, translation drafts, Dex): Anthropic and OpenRouter receive the app listing details and store content needed for the feature you start.
- Payments: card and wallet payments are processed by our payment provider through paas.build.
- Web fonts: Google Fonts.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
How long we keep data
- Account and store data: while the account is active, and deleted on request unless we must keep it by law.
- Store commerce events: 400 days, then reduced to daily totals without player identifiers.
- Sessions expire automatically; verification and invite tokens expire and are removed.
- Orders and payment records: as long as needed for accounting, refunds and disputes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, and object to or restrict its use. Email privacy@appside.build. If you are a player of a publisher's game, you can also contact the publisher; we help publishers answer such requests. You can complain to your local data protection authority.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Children
Appside Studio is for businesses. Publishers are responsible for the age rating of their games and for meeting the rules that apply to younger players in their stores.
Security
We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, signed and time-limited player sessions, signed webhooks and least-privilege access. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected users and authorities where the law requires.
Changes
We will update the date above when this policy changes, and tell publishers in advance of material changes.
